Internship OpportunitiesThis enriching experience in politics is an opportunity to get an insider's view of the Democratic party and to make valuable life-long connections. The Democratic National Committee is looking for enthusiastic, politically minded students for our 2010 summer internship program. This is a unique opportunity for hardworking, passionate young leaders to gain real life, hands-on experience in Democratic politics, strengthen their understanding of the political process and prepare for future political opportunities. It’s also a great way to form lasting connections and memories. In addition to typical office duties DNC interns will have the chance to volunteer in community outreach projects and grassroots organizing, assist at DNC functions, take tours across the city and attend weekly lunches hosted by DNC staff. |

Ethanol Subsidy nearly 6 billion dollars a Year
Critics of the ethanol program noted that energy legislation enacted in 2007 requires oil companies to produce 36 billion gallons of biofuels like ethanol by 2022, arguing that refiners will have to rely on ethanol whether it is subsidized or not.

President Obama Signs Hate Crimes Prevention Act Into Law
Today President Obama signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act into law, legislation that will extend new federal protections to people who are victims of violent crime because of their gender, sexual orientation or identity, or disability.
